Our range of Polycool Laterals are plastic, twin wall ducts which are very strong and robust. They are a hard wearing, heavy duty alternative to traditional metal systems. They have a massive perforated area and are more than capable of providing the air flow required to cool crops.

Flat storage with Polycool

Our company were asked to recommend a system to replace existing pedestals in a 10,000 tonne wheat store. To date customers had been using 36 vertical pedestals to ventilate the crop. These were proving difficult to fill around from the overhead conveyors. Moving heavy 2.2kw fans between the pedestals was not ideal on grain that was over 6m deep. Our company supplied 40 lengths of 6m x 450mm perforated Polycool duct, used to make 4 x 60m duct runs down through the store. Each duct run was connected to an externally positioned 11kw fan.

The wheat in the store has cooled steadily and evenly across the profile, whilst being able to ventilate the whole store at the same time. The robust nature of the Polycool duct has assisted with hassle free unloads.
